NEW START - NEW
SCHOOL - NEW NAME
The Interim
Governing Body met on the 2nd February and decided to
recommend to the County Council and the Diocesan Board of Education that
the name of the new school should be
Hythe Church of England Community School
My thanks to the
children of both schools for their thoughtful and creative
contributions.
Please note that
this is subject to approval by Kent County Council who have to check on
duplication etc. However I felt it important to inform the community as
soon as the recommendation had been decided. The two schools sent out a
flyer on Friday 3rd February, but if you missed it here is
the confirmation.
The Interim
Governing Body is working hard on your behalf.
There is a selection
panel to shortlist candidates for the Headship.
This will meet prior
the interviews on the 2nd and 3rd of March. If we
make a decision we will meet as a full Interim Governing Body on the
evening of 3rd March to seek ratification.
Otherwise there is
nothing of substance to report.
Your Governors are
clear that we need to communicate openly with our community.
However we need you
to be patient!
Remember if you are
not hearing anything it means that nothing has been decided.
The new school,
‘Hythe Church of England Community School’, will open in September 2006.
We will work on
the present sites, until the new building opens sometime between Easter and
September 2007.
The new build is
adjacent to the present infant school and includes premises for the youth
club.
The Governors are
in the process of appointing a Head Teacher for the school.
Interviews will be
held on the 2nd and 3rd March,
after which we
will be looking to establish a staffing structure.
As soon as I have
more detail I will of course come back to you.
Tim Hogg - Chairman of
the Interim Governing Body
